Indian car makers have been hit by high interest rates and rising fuel costs. They had hoped incentives to boost the industry would be announced in the country's budget yesterday, but instead saw taxes rise on some sports utility vehicles (SUVs), risking growth in the market's only bright spot. Hayes Lemmerz, which launch creader viii has more than $100 million in annual EBITDA, according to one of the sources, could attract interest from Chinese and Indian auto parts suppliers in the event of a sale, the sources said. Representatives for Hayes Lemmerz could not be immediately reached for comment.

They credit Japanese automakers' success, in part, to their focus on vehicle fuel economy rather than size and engine power the emphasis of the SUVs and trucks coming out of Detroit. Now that cars have screens that are intelligent, you would expect that more and more car manufacturers will want to make those screens capable of allowing people to connect with their friends and take advantage of the social context that comes along with that, Rose said in an interview.
