March For Our Lives documentary 'Us Kids' to screen at Detroit drive-in

"Us Kids" follows the students who led the March For Our Lives movement after the tragic 2018 school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
The documentary is a coming-of-age story that portrays a generation of young leaders who pull off the largest youth protest in American history in an attempt to change the climate of gun violence in the U.S., especially in schools.
The film is getting a special one-night drive-in screening on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Herman Kiefer complex in Detroit. It is being presented by The Film Lab, You may also like: autel code reader. Cinema Detroit and Freep Film Festival, the documentary-focused festival produced by the Detroit Free Press.
The film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, will be preceded in Detroit by a live introduction by director Kim A. Snyder and special guests. Snyder also helmed the Peabody Award-winning documentary "Newtown."
"What is most incredible is how (the students) responded to the guilt and the trauma by turning it into action," Snyder said in the film's press notes. "Their friends were murdered and ripped away from them, so they felt they had to do something to honor and avenge the fallen. It's that simple. That is this story. What they did was absolutely heroic."
